Overview

As a clerk, this job performs parts organization and tracking/inventory of all maintenance spare parts. The clerk position also receives direction and training from the Maintenance Manager on parts ordering, inventory control and Mpluse. As a Utilities Mechanic, this job maintains the facility including painting, general wall repair, and roof upkeep. This position also will work closely with Maintenance Mechanic 2 and Maintenance Supervisor to learn new skills and gain experience necessary to complete these tasks.

 

This position does not perform maintenance duties on live (running) equipment.

Responsibilities

  1. Clerk: Organizes an inventory all parts, enters data in the Mpluse system (with total accuracy), creates requisitions for parts needed, receives parts and puts them away.
  2. Concrete and drywall repair work, as well as painting of all production areas and outside the facility.
  3. Maintenance and cleaning of the roof, which include, but is not limited to leak repair, gutter cleaning and roof clean up.
  4. Performs Lock Out/Tag Out procedure on mechanical systems, water systems, hydraulic systems, HVAC refrigeration systems, and pneumatic/vacuum systems to dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Reassembles and tests systems prior to removal of Lock Out/Tag Out notification devices.
  5. Communicates problems to Maintenance Mechanic 2 or Maintenance Supervisor.
  6. Estimates time and parts for repair jobs and maintain parts and supplies inventory.
  7. Completes data entry into assigned files, such as daily logs, work orders, requisitions, etc..
  8. Reclaims and disposes of mechanical components.

Qualifications

  1. Individual must be 18 years of age, have graduated from high school or have obtained a GED.
  2. Individual must have knowledge with Microsoft Work, Excel, and Power Point Programs.
  3. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  4. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  5. Ability to speak effectively to all levels of employees (bilingual skills in English/Spanish preferred).
  6. Must have a current Valid Oregon Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  7. Ability to work on different shifts and weekends, as the schedule will change periodically.
