Overview

Assures the manufacturing of consistent, quality and safe finished food products through the understanding of the processes. Performs analytical testing and sensory evaluation of finished products. When absent responsibility is delegated among general quality control personnel and/or the quality control supervisor

Responsibilities

  1. Examines and tests company’s products to ensure quality specifications compliance with standards and regulations
  2. Inspects product to determine compliance with specifications, company’s quality control system for compliance with customer specification requirements.
  3. Submits samples of product to the laboratory for testing as indicated by department procedures.
  4. Stamp mark of approval or rejection on production and writes report of examinations.
  5. Records quality control daily activities on required forms.
  6. Follows up and maintains existing work procedures and updates accordingly.
  7. Communicates variances with department Supervisors and Plant Manager.
  8. Ensures compliance of all Safety and GMP regulations.
  9. Verifies equipment calibration and makes necessary adjustments
  10. Tracks non-conforming products and their disposition
  11. Acts as a liaison with floor personnel about frequent changes of product specifications
  12. Cleanse and sterilizes laboratory equipment before and after use
  13. Regular attendance and punctuality is required due to working with people, items and equipment that are at the facility
  14. Performs shelf life testing and completes required forms
  15. Conducts inspections along with sanitation department after startup and changeovers to assure equipment is clean, conducts allergen testing if necessary

Qualifications

  1. Must be available to work swing shift.
  2. 1 year Quality Control experience is preferred.
  3. Requires knowledge of food and safety regulations.
  4. Basic PC skills are required.
  5. Ability to organize and maintain data/information and attention to detail is preferred.
  6. Ability to ready, analyze, and interpret QC and production procedures or government regulations.
  7. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish both oral and written is preferred.
