    General Summary

    The Transportation Management Systems (TMS) Analyst provides support and expertise to Reser’s transportation group as it relates primarily to MercuryGate and TMW (ICC) software.  The analyst will support activities relating to system reporting, MercuryGate setup and support, and as well as developing API setup for additional products as they are added to Reser’s suite.  In conjunction with these responsibilities, they work to continually improve system processes to obtain optimum efficiency of operations.


    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    1.Technical Support for MercuryGate, to research and resolve issues as they arise and to determine root causes and implement countermeasures to address the issues long term

    2.Serve as the site administrator for TMS solutions through user maintenance, security administration, and roles/permissions setup

    3.Have a clear understanding of transportation contracts and how to represent them accurately in TMS setup

    4.Onboard new EDI carriers through communicating requirements, proper setup and testing to ensure transactions are communicated accurately and timely

    5.Diagnose, research, and correct EDI failures as they arise in day to day business

    6.Train new users in the use of MercuryGate

    7.Perform MercuryGate and other transportation systems testing

    8.Serve as subject matter expert on LTL, Truckload, and Intermodal rates structure and contracts within MercuryGate TMS

    9.Coordinate with customer’s integration between MercuryGate and internal WMS systems, and other customer ERP and MRP systems

    10.Work closely with IS, accounting, and transportation departments to ensure that MercuryGate TMS implementations are successful and efficient

    11.Create transportation reporting to express brokerage performance, spot market analysis, and customer / carrier key indicators

    12.Maintain and create MercuryGate reports

    13.Serve as the primary liaison between Reser’s and MercuryGate as it relates to system updates / upgrades, helpdesk issue resolution, Ace Task Manager, and support issue reconciliation

    14.Document support issues and solutions, as well as process improvements for support

    15.Develop effective strategies to best optimize our customer’s freight and reduce transportation costs utilizing MercuryGate TMS



    1.Must have experience working with or implementing Tier 1 / Tier 2  Transportation Management Systems

    2.Ability to design processes for new functionality within transportation operations.

    3.Experience with MercuryGate implementation is a plus.

    4.Previous experience integration TMS solutions is a plus.

    5.Strong analytical, problem solving, and deliverable experience

    6.Strong organizational skills, detail oriented with ability to handle projects and priorities

    7.Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    8.Ability to build strong, positive rapport with colleagues in a team environment; ability to provide an example that communicates integrity and consistency in decision making.

    9.Ability to develop rapport with our customer while successfully managing customer expectations.

    10.Ability to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment; demonstrated ability to work effectively under stress and pressure; ability to manage multiple projects and meet specific goals and deadlines.

    11.Effective time management skills

    12.Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Power Point, and Excel

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.



    Job Specifications

    1. Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (e.g., Operations Management, Supply Chain Management
    2. Minimum of 2 years of experience within manufacturing & distribution, transportation industries.
    3. Minimum of 2 years participating on IT project based work / teams.
    4. Strong Project Management skills required.
    5. Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, etc.), or equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge of system/program design.


    Working Conditions

    1. Office environment.
    2. Travel up to 20% of the time.
